Skills and personalization

Skills and personalization

Every investor has a way they like to think. Some start with valuation, some with technicals, some with macro, some with portfolio risk. A useful AI research platform should not force every user into the same workflow.

This update introduces a more personalized Kimpton: reusable skills, better context sections, richer mentions, watchlist improvements, and a guided onboarding flow that helps Kimpton understand how you invest.

What's New

  • Skills page and editor for reusable research workflows
  • Default skills for common investment research tasks
  • Sidebar context sections for skills, watchlists, portfolios, and research objects
  • Improved mention system for tickers, skills, portfolios, and watchlists
  • Personalization and onboarding improvements
  • Usage tracking for skill, mention, and watchlist workflows

Why This Matters

Prompts are useful, but repeatable workflows are more powerful. A skill turns a recurring research process into something you can reuse, refine, and eventually share with a team.

Personalization is also what makes context useful. Kimpton should know the assets you watch, the portfolios you care about, the skills you use most, and the type of analysis you prefer.

Skills

Skills are reusable research workflows inside Kimpton. Start from a default skill or create your own template. Use them to standardize repeatable analysis and make the product fit the way you work.

  • Create and edit custom skills
  • Use default skills for common research workflows

  • A portfolio risk review skill
  • A sector monitor skill for AI infrastructure

Better Mentions

The mention system now reaches more of the product. Pull in tickers, skills, portfolios, and watchlists from the input instead of describing the context manually. The result is cleaner prompts and more precise research.

  • Cleaner category navigation in mention menus
  • Watchlist mention support
  • More reliable context injection into research threads

Onboarding and Workspace Polish

We also added a guided onboarding flow for different investor personas, improved persistence across onboarding steps, updated the sidebar, and tuned the workspace so Kimpton feels less generic from the first session.
