Built-in data
See what data is available before your firm connects anything.
You can ask Kimpton about markets without connecting your firm's data. Check the source and date of every figure, especially when comparing different reporting periods.
| Data | Free | Paid | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Equity and crypto prices, equity fundamentals in research | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Web and news search, prediction markets | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Options and built-in SEC filing tools | No | Yes | Yes |
| FactSet-backed asset data and tools | No | No | With an active connection and entitlements |
Assets can be opened on any plan. Its FactSet-backed sections, such as Financials and Estimates, need Enterprise and an active FactSet market-data connection. The price chart is separate from those sections. Buying credits does not unlock paid data; see Billing and plans.
Where the data comes from
| Source | Used for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tiingo | Default equity and crypto prices and equity fundamentals | Quote time, currency, and statement period |
| Massive | Options on paid plans | Contract, expiry, and exchange agreement |
| SEC EDGAR | Filing tools on paid plans | Filing date and period |
| Polymarket | Prediction-market probabilities | Market question and observation time |
| Exa | Web and news search | Original page and publication date |
| FactSet | Enterprise asset sections and direct research tools | Connection status, entitlements, and source period |
FactSet has two separate connections. The market-data connection fills asset pages and direct research tools; FactSet MCP adds another set of agent tools. One does not activate the other. See FactSet market data.
To use your firm's files or warehouse, see Data connections. To use a brokerage account or model, see Portfolios.
