Portfolios
Understand connected accounts, model portfolios, and published firm models.
Open Portfolio to see the portfolios available in your organization. The type of portfolio matters when you ask Kimpton a question.
- Connected brokerage account (Free or Paid): Holdings and balances from a read-only Plaid connection. Check the last sync time.
- Model portfolio: A target allocation or hypothetical portfolio your organization created or shared. It is not live client holdings.
- Published Ridgeline model (Enterprise): A model snapshot selected and published by your firm's admin. Its weights are targets.
Connect a brokerage account
On Free or Paid:
- Select Connect brokerage in Portfolio or Settings → Connected Accounts.
- Find your institution in the Plaid window and complete its sign-in steps.
- Wait for the first sync. Check its time before using the holdings.
Kimpton does not receive your brokerage password and cannot place trades or move money. Kimpton shows a message if you reach your plan's connection limit. Plaid's search results show current institution availability.
If setup fails, choose Retry Connection. If you reach an account limit, manage an existing connection or check your plan. Removing a connection removes its associated data from Kimpton; it does not change the account at your institution.
Use a firm model
Enterprise members cannot connect a brokerage through Plaid. Look in Portfolio for a model your firm has published. If it is missing, check your selected organization. Then ask your firm administrator whether the model has been published and shared with you.
You can reference an authorized, published Ridgeline model snapshot in Chat. Its weights are targets, not current client-account holdings or transactions. Specific workflow blocks can read authorized actual-account data when your organization configures them.
Publish Ridgeline models (admins)
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Ridgeline → Connect.
- When the connection is ready, choose Manage models.
- Select and publish the models your team should see.
- Ask a member to check that they appear in Portfolio.
