What starts a workflow
Choose a schedule, market event, or manual run.
| Start | When to use it | Check before publishing |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule | Run at a chosen time or interval | Timezone, frequency, credits, and block availability |
| Corporate actions | React to selected company actions | Portfolio or security scope; Enterprise FactSet market data |
| Filings | React to selected filing types | Form type and scope; Enterprise FactSet market data |
| Price movement | React when a threshold is newly crossed | Percentage, direction, market hours, and scope |
| Run now | Start a test or manual run yourself | Whether this is a test or a real delivery |
A workflow has one configured automatic trigger. Run now is also available to test a draft. Some specialist blocks are manual only even if a Schedule block appears on the canvas; see Workflow blocks.
An event check can run and find nothing. History calls this a No-op. It does not mean the workflow failed. If you expected a result, check the event conditions and run history.
